Ash Wednesday
This week is Ash Wednesday, one of the holiest days of the year. There will be a Eucharist in church at 7.30pm, with the imposition of Ashes. If you are unable to attend, why not try and find a church near to work, or to where you will be that day, to observe the beginning of Lent. Our Wednesday morning Eucharist, also with the imposition of ashes, moves to 11.30am and is followed by a Lent lunch in aid of Christian Aid. Also, we look forward to all the other Lenten activities described in our Lent leaflet so make sure you take your copy away with you.

St. Mary’s Schools Consultation Meeting
Both Governing bodies have recently endorsed a proposal to start the consultation process to discontinue and close the Junior school so that simultaneously the Infant school extends to become an all age primary school operating on the current Infant and Junior school sites. The church is hosting a consultation meeting for our widest community to come and hear about the proposal and give us your views. All will be very warmly welcomed and we look forward to seeing you on Tues 6 March at 6pm.

Lent Preparation
This Lent we will be using a book to inspire us for an evening Lent course. More news to follow soon, but if you want to order a copy of the book Finding Sanctuary – Monastic Steps for Everyday Life, by Christopher Jamieson, please sign up at the back of the church.

Theatre in Church: 26th February meeting
Fr Bruce will lead a meeting to be held after service on Sun 26 Feb to explore what we have achieved and learned from our experiences of staging theatrical productions in church. We will consider how theatre can be used to explore and develop our faith, and to engage our church community with the wider community as part of mission and outreach, taking a critical look at the positives and negatives of Theatre in Church and consider our next steps. All are welcome. The meeting will finish by 1pm.

Annual Revision of Electoral Roll
We shall be revising our Church electoral roll from Sunday 4th March. If you are not already on the roll, and wish to be included, please fill in an Application for Enrolment (available at the back of the Church) and leave it in the box provided, or hand it to Vanessa. Young people of 15 years old may also apply now to be entered on the Roll as soon as they become eligible, on their 16th birthday. The Revision will be completed and the Roll closed on Sunday 1st April.

Future Date
Don’t forget our ‘Away Day’ at Edgware Abbey on Saturday 16th June.

Notices
If anyone has a notice for the sheet please ensure that it is emailed to Sarah and the Church Office by 12noon on the Tuesday of that week. This is so that it can be approved, typed up and the sheets run off in good time.
